Playing needs the service on your Sonos® system too. If you tap something and the music page says the service isn’t set up on your Sonos system yet, add it in the Sonos® app once, then try again.
Setting up a service

Open the Music Services page
On the music page, tap Add at the end of the service row (or Add a music service when nothing is set up yet). The page lists the services with a button beside each.

Tap Connect
The service’s own sign-in page opens inside Somos. Sign in as you normally would — Somos never sees your password. Some services show a short code to enter on their page; the row tells you when. Come back to Somos; once the service confirms, the row’s button reads Disconnect and the service appears in the row on the music page.

Apple Music: tap Allow
Apple lets only the Sonos® app sign in to Apple Music, so Somos browses it from your iPhone instead. Tap Allow when Somos asks for Apple Music access (the row reads Browses from this iPhone afterwards). The speaker plays on the Apple Music account your Sonos® system already holds. Declined it? The row offers Allow in Settings.

TuneIn needs nothing
Services that need no account, such as TuneIn, read No sign-in needed and are ready as soon as they are on your Sonos® system.
Browsing, searching and playing
- Tap a service button and the music page slides down to a handle; the service’s own page opens above it — shelves, rows and grids drawn the way the service asks, with album art and station logos.
- Open albums, playlists and folders in place. A single back row at the top takes you up one level.
- Search sits at the top of every service page. Type, and the service’s own categories appear — pick songs, albums, artists, playlists or stations. Results replace the page until you clear the field.
- Tap to play. A song, album, playlist or station starts on the room and the player comes back up. The plus on a song adds it to the queue instead; the heart keeps it in Favorites.
- The lit button is the service that is sounding — it lights when you play from it, when you play a favorite from it, and stays lit across rooms and after you close and reopen the page.
Apple Music
Apple Music offers the whole catalogue and your own library — artists, albums and playlists with their artwork. Search and play a song, an album or a playlist. Songs playing from Apple Music also show quality badges on the player (Lossless, Hi-Res Lossless, Dolby Atmos) — what Apple’s catalogue offers for that track, not what the speaker is decoding.Disconnecting a service
Press and hold the service’s button on the music page and choose Disconnect, or tap Disconnect on the Music Services page. This forgets the sign-in in Somos only — your Sonos® system keeps its own account for the service, and the Sonos® app is unaffected. Apple Music has no Disconnect; its access is an iPhone permission you manage in Settings → Somos InControl.If something does not play
- ”… isn’t set up on your Sonos system yet” — the Sonos® system has no account for that service. Add it in the Sonos® app, then try again.
- The wrong room plays — Somos plays to the room whose music page you have open; check the room name under Music at the top of the page.
- The service list will not load — Somos asks the room that leads the group. Try again from a room that is not part of a home theater, or use Add again; the page re-reads on every open.
- A song is missing from Apple Music’s catalogue — a library-only song cannot be sent to the speaker, and the page says so.
