The official Sonos® app has grown larger and slower over time. Somos InControl is the opposite: one page per room, the controls you actually reach for, and nothing else in the way. What the app does
Instant volume
A large, responsive slider is always the first thing you see, pinned as you scroll. Tap the speaker icon to mute.
Real EQ controls
Bass, treble, loudness and Trueplay in every room. Balance on stereo pairs; surround, height, subwoofer and crossover wherever the hardware exists — no hunting through nested menus.
Sound presets
Hold a preset to snapshot the room’s EQ levels — and, if you tick them, volume, Night Sound, Speech Boost and Loudness. Tap to restore everything at once; Siri knows each preset by name.
Home theater controls and setup
Soundbar rooms get the full set, and you can build the room too: bond surrounds, separate fronts and up to two Subs from inside the app, with a live audio-format badge to confirm what the bar receives.
Music services
Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadio, TuneIn and Bandcamp — browse, search and play straight to the room. Heart anything to keep it, tap the plus to queue it, and swipe the art or pinch for volume if you turn those on.
Every room, grouped or not
Home theaters, stereo pairs, singles and portables all appear. Group rooms from any page, swipe between rooms on the bottom bar, and save groups you use often.
Lock Screen, widget, Siri and Apple Watch
A Live Activity with volume, mute, your three presets and music transport; a Home Screen widget with presets and volume; Siri phrases that work out of the box; and a Watch app with rooms, playback, presets and the Crown for volume, plus watch face complications for your room, its EQ, the sleep timer, favourites and presets — or add a ready-made Somos watch face from your iPhone.
No account, no tracking
No sign-up. No analytics. No ads. No servers of ours. The network traffic is the local control messages your speakers need, speaker photos from Sonos®‘s public library, your own music services when you use them, and Apple’s iCloud and App Store.
iCloud sync
Presets, room order, saved groups, favorites and switches follow your Apple ID to your iPhone and iPad, and come back after a reinstall.
Free for one room
Everything for one room, free. Whole Home, a one-time purchase, adds every other room, grouping, saved groups and front speakers.
Which Sonos® hardware is supported?
Somos InControl works with Sonos® speakers that support local control on your network — S2 and S1 systems, and more than one system at a time. If a speaker appears in the official Sonos® app on the same Wi-Fi, it will appear here too. Every room gets volume, mute, bass, treble, loudness, presets, Trueplay, Status Light, Touch Controls and the music page with your music services. What changes by room type:
If a specific speaker model isn’t being discovered, contact the developer through Help & Support → Visit our website in the app menu, with the model name.

You’ll need the free TestFlight app installed on your iPhone or iPad before you can install Somos InControl. The app requires iOS 17 or later.Beta builds may receive frequent updates.
